Scarguard Labs, LLC Expands Distribution Reach Through Agreements With McKesson Drugs and Publix Supermarkets

December 23rd, 2008

2008 DEC 23 -- Scarguard Labs, LLC, a closely held company specializing in the treatment of scars and other dermatological problems through the use of multi-technology drugs enhanced by a proprietary contact delivery system, announced it has agreements in place with Publix Supermarkets and McKesson Drugs to carry Scarguard products.

"These are very positive developments for Scarguard," said CEO Joel Studin. "McKesson is the largest drug wholesaler in the U.S., with more than 20 distribution centers across the country. Publix is the fourth largest grocery store chain in the U.S., and caters to a high-end clientele through its 450 stores across the Southeast.

"The McKesson agreement complements our existing agreements with Amerisource Bergen and Cardinal Health, and means that we have agreements with the three largest pharmaceutical distributors. This will give our products enormous visibility to retail customers across the country and with large independent drugstores chains in particular. The agreement immediately placed our products in McKesson's two largest retailers, and as a result, we have seen at least a 15% increase in the dollar volume of our sales.

"The Publix clientele is precisely the target market for Scarguard products," continued Studin. "It has been a long time goal of ours to reach an agreement with them. Eventually Publix came to believe that our products are the most efficacious of the category and saw our successes in other food chains such as ShopRite and Pathmark. We consider this agreement to be a highlight of our strategy to increase the retail presence for our products by expanding our presence in other channels."
