2012 MAY 4 -- New investigation results, "Free flap reconstruction of lateral mandibular defects: indications and outcomes," are detailed in a study published in Otolaryngology--head and Neck Surgery. In this recent report, researchers in Birmingham, Alabama conducted a study "To compare outcomes following osteocutaneous radial forearm and fibula free flap reconstruction of lateral mandibular defects. Retrospective case-controlled study. Historical cohort study. All patients who underwent free flap reconstruction of lateral mandibular defects from 1999 to 2010 were included in this study."
