University Hospital Describes Research in Apoptosis

2012 JUN 19 (NewsRx) -- By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Life Science Weekly -- Investigators publish new report on Apoptosis. According to news reporting originating in Regensburg, Germany, by NewsRx journalists, researchers stated "Resin monomers like 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) disturb cell functions including responses of the innate immune system, mineralization and differentiation, or induce cell death via apoptosis. These phenomena are associated with oxidative stress and a reduction in the concentration of the antioxidant glutathione (GSH), resulting in imbalanced redox homeostasis."
