Reports Outline Sexual and Reproductive Health Study Findings from La Trobe University

2013 JAN 11 (NewsRx) -- By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Health & Medicine Week -- Current study results on Sexual and Reproductive Health have been published. According to news originating from Melbourne, Australia, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "Anal sex is known to be an important risk factor for anal cancer. Yet compared with vaginal intercourse, little is known about anal sex practices in either heterosexual or male homosexual populations."

Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from La Trobe University, "Of the data that are available, it appears a significant and increasing minority of heterosexuals have ever practised anal intercourse. Among homosexual men, most, but not all, report anal sex, with large proportions of men engaging in both insertive and receptive anal intercourse."

According to the news editors, the research concluded: "The most significant finding of the review was the dearth of population-based data, particularly relating to homosexual men."
