Autism Speaks Chooses WhiteBlox To Power First-Ever Internet Autism Video Glossary
2007 NOV 19 -- WhiteBlox announced that Autism Speaks chose its robust interactive broadband video solutions to power the first-ever web-based video glossary to help parents and professionals learn more about the early warning signs of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The custom designed solution features a media player with side-by-side video windows to display the more than one hundred educational video clips aimed at early detection, intervention and treatment. After its launch on October 15, the video glossary logged more than 4 million viewer minutes its first week. The glossary has had more than 100,000 unique visitors, with viewer numbers continuing to grow. "WhiteBlox is privileged to be part of this meaningful project," said WhiteBlox Chairman and CEO, Greg Demetriades. "The ability to provide on-demand access to critical educational information to families around the globe is a moving demonstration of the power and potential of online interactive media." A non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of autism and raising money to fund autism research, Autism Speaks partnered with First Signs, the leader in early identification and intervention of children with developmental delays and disorders, and Florida State University, to make the glossary possible. "The autism video glossary is drawing rave reviews from parents and medical professionals alike who cite its effectiveness and ease of use," said Alison Singer, Autism Speaks executive vice president of communications and awareness. "We are indebted to WhiteBlox for the resources, expertise and passion it has given to this initiative. Together we have created an important new tool for families." The Autism Video Glossary was architected and designed by Managing Director Ross Cooper, Executive Producer Debbie Kiederer, Executive Creative Director Angela Vecchio and Associate Creative Director Dawn White of the Gold n Fish Marketing Group of Armonk, NY.
