Environmental Tectonics Corporation's BioMedical Division Achieves Foreign Manufacturer Accreditation in Japan

2009 JUL 6 - (NewsRx.com) -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (BULLETIN BOARD: ETCC) ("ETC" or the "Company") BioMedical Division announced that the Japan Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) has given accreditation to ETC as a foreign manufacturer in Japan.

ETC worked closely with our Japanese distributor (Koike Medical Co., Ltd.) to help ensure that our monoplace hyperbaric chambers passed every certification requirement. Obtaining the accreditation further promotes placement of BARA-MED(R) chambers in Japan.

ETC manufacturers the BARA-MED(R) and BARA-MED(R) XD, the industry's most technically advanced hyperbaric chambers. These chambers include a 4th generation Windows(R) based operating system which controls and records chamber activity. ETC's hyperbaric chambers remain the leader in providing a patient friendly pressurization alternative (Smooth Ride(TM)) that minimizes complications due to middle ear and sinus barotraumas without increasing compression time. In addition to their regular use in clinical treatments at medical facilities around the world, ETC's hyperbaric chambers are routinely involved in research on new indications for which Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) holds promise.

Eric Sprague, Director of Asia Sales for ETC, commented, "We are pleased to see ourselves leaving a larger footprint on the Asian Market. Koike Medical has been a long time partner with ETC and has placed a significant number of ETC's monoplace chambers in Japan."

ETC was incorporated in 1969 in Pennsylvania and this year we will celebrate our 40th anniversary. Our core technologies include the design, manufacture and sale of Training Services (TSG) which includes: (1) software driven products and services used to create and monitor the physiological effects of flight; (2) high performance jet tactical flight simulation; and (3) driving and disaster simulation systems, and Control Systems (CSG) which includes: (1) steam and gas sterilization; (2) testing and simulation devices for the automotive industry; and (3) hyperbaric and hypobaric chambers. Product categories included in TSG are Aircrew Training Systems (ATS) and flight simulators, disaster management systems and entertainment applications. CSG includes sterilizers, environmental control devices and hyperbaric chambers along with parts and service support.
