Sysmex Supports Illinois Chapter Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
2009 AUG 3 - (NewsRx.com) -- Sysmex announced its customer appreciation dinner fundraiser for the Illinois Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has resulted in a combined company/customer donation of $20,000 for LLS. Monies will be directed toward a general fund which supports blood cancer research and patient services. The Sysmex customer appreciation dinner fundraiser was held during the American Association of Clinical Chemistry's (AACC) annual meeting in Chicago July 19 - 23. The fundraising event for LLS corresponds with the state location of Sysmex's headquarters for the Americas and with the location of the 2009 AACC meeting. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. "On behalf of Sysmex, our board of directors and our employees, we want to thank our customers for their generosity in joining us in our efforts to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as they work to eradicate hematological cancers. I trust our joint donation will be especially meaningful to the organization in these challenging economic times. We are all honored to have been given the opportunity to help," said John Kershaw, CEO, Sysmex America, Inc. "The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is proud to partner with Sysmex, and honored to be the beneficiary of their generosity," stated Pam Swenk, Executive Director, Illinois Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. "It is somehow appropriate that the global leader in healthcare testing equipment and technology be paired with the leader in the fight against blood cancer to meet the mission of the LLS. Our heartfelt thanks go to Mr. Kershaw and Sysmex." Keywords: Blood Cancer, Blood Carcinoma, Cancer Research, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Leukemia, Lymphoma, Oncology, Sysmex America Inc.
