Investigators at University of Michigan, Medical Department have published new data on pathology
2009 JUL 27 - (NewsRx.com) -- "The field of hematopathology has been a leader in the application of new technologies for both diagnostics and therapy," researchers in the United States report. "The ready accessibility of blood cells for examination, the ability to quantify important indices, and the relative responsiveness of otherwise fatal hematologic diseases to chemotherapy have all contributed to rapid advances in the field," wrote J.L. Hess and colleagues, University of Michigan, Medical Department. The researchers concluded: "Hematopathology provides many insights into the challenges that pathology informatics will face in addressing the needs of a growing and aging population in the era of personalized medicine. (Arch Pathol Lab Med. 2009; 133:908-911)." Hess and colleagues published their study in Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (What Hematopathology Tells Us About the Future of Pathology Informatics. Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, 2009;133(6):908-911). For additional information, contact J.L.
