ISC2(R) Advisor and Microsoft Security Professional Jim Molini Launches CodeGuard Blog
2009 AUG 25 - (NewsRx.com) -- (ISC)2® ("ISC-squared"), the not-for-profit global leader in educating and certifying information security professionals throughout their careers, announced that Jim Molini, CISSP, CSSLP, a member of its Advisory Board of the Americas and a Microsoft security professional, has launched the CodeGuard blog (www.codeguard.org/blog). The blog covers a range of information security issues, including software security, computer and network security, the professionalism of security, security management, and trends and hot issues in the security space, with a particular focus on the problem of insecure software. The blog will consider security both from a business and technical perspective, keeping the contents current, thoughtful and sometimes provocative. "In my 25 years as an information security professional, I have witnessed a wide variety of information security challenges and look forward to sharing the lessons I've learned," said Molini. "One of the topics to which I am giving special attention in my blog is software security, which is considered by many to be the biggest new issue facing security professionals today. The professionals who work every day in the field of software development often walk a fine line between profit and process. They must balance the mandate for high productivity against their professional commitment to high quality systems. I will speak to the issues that they face with a pragmatism that is sorely needed in this industry. "I welcome comments from security and software professionals alike as we attempt to create a true dialogue on these important issues," Molini said. During his career, Molini has worked in government and the private sector, advising major financial and pharmaceutical organizations on a variety of information security issues, including system and software security, intrusion detection and risk management. He has implemented security controls for large organizations as vice president of Data Security at First USA Bank and computer security coordinator for NASA's Space Shuttle Flight Software development team. Currently, Molini is a senior program manager at Microsoft, working in the Identity and Security Division. He has been a CISSP for more than 15 years and is also a key architect of the new CSSLP certification from (ISC)2.
