According to an abstract presented by the authors to the 2nd National Conference on Human Retroviruses and Related Infections, held January 29 - February 2, 1995, in Washington, DC, "Inhibitors of microtubule assembly are known to be clinically active against KS, and this led us to consider paclitaxel, an agent that stabilizes microtubule polymers, as a potential therapy. In vitro, paclitaxel was found to be cytotoxic to KS-derived spindle cell lines at {{approx}}10 nM (similar potency to that seen in breast and ovarian carcinoma lines).
