Group Announces $150,000 in Grants To Fight AIDS in Maine

A project to provide AIDS education and testing to migrant and seasonal farm workers in Maine's Androscoggin, Aroostook and Washington counties is among the programs to receive funding from the Maine Community AIDS Partnership.

The program of the American Red Cross, Pine Tree Chapter in Bangor, will receive a $24,153 grant. It was one of ten to receive a total of $150,000 in funding from the partnership, which was created in 1994 to bring new resources for AIDS-related prevention and services to Maine.

The group plans to give out a total of $750,000 in grants over the next three years.
