"The Immune Response to HIV-1 gp120 Induced by Nucleic Acid Immunization (NAI)."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the New York Academy of Sciences conference DNA Vaccines: A New Era in Vaccinology, held April 6-9, 1995, "The NAI induced immune response to HIV-1 gp120 Type IIIB was examined in CBA/Ca mice. Following intramuscular injections with facilitators such as Marcaine or cardiotoxin, four injections of 100 ug in 100 ul supercoiled plasmid containing HIV-1 gp120 under control of a CMV early promoter or a control plasmid were injected into calf muscle of CBA/Ca mice (n=3 or 8) at two week intervals.
