28 New HIV Cases Reported in Arkansas in Past Month

Twenty-eight new cases of HIV were reported in Arkansas in the past 30 days, the state Health Department says.

The monthly statistics, released April 16, 1995, showed that 22 new cases of AIDS were reported during the 30-day period, ending April 12, 1995.

Arkansas has reported more than 400 cases of HIV every year since 1990. Through April 12, 1995, the number of cases reported was 145.

A total of 3,121 Arkansans have been reported to be HIV positive. Of that number, 1,709 have developed AIDS.
