"Safety of Transthoracic Needle Aspiration in Patients with Human Immunodeficiency Virus-Infection."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 1995 International Conference of the American Thoracic Society, held May 20-24, 1995, in Seattle, Washington, "Transthoracic needle aspiration (TNA) has proved to be a safe and practical method in diagnosing pulmonary diseases; however, a potential high risk of complications has limited the use of TNA in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected pts. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety of TNA in this group of pts.
