"Spread of Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis among Italian HIV+ Population."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 19th International Congress of Chemotherapy, held July 16-21, 1995, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, "The aim was to describe both initial and acquired drug resistance (DR) of tuberculosis among Italian HIV+ pts., in terms of overall frequency, geographical distribution, drug-patterns and risk-factors. A multicentric observational study was performed (March '93 to July '94), in cooperation with 28 infectious diseases clinics supported by 23 microbiology laboratories.
