According to an abstract submitted by the author to the 35th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, sponsored by the American Society for Microbiology, held September 17-20, 1995, in San Francisco, California, "Because of the recent finding of herpesvirus-like DNA sequences in Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) tissues, we wished to determine if use of antiherpes drugs protects against the development of AIDS associated KS. We analyzed data from 935 homosexual men with AIDS from the Multicenter AIDS Cohort Study in two ways.
