AIDS Vaccine Data Called "Unpleasant, Unpalatable"

There has been a reluctance to accept the "unpleasant" data from HIV vaccine studies, according to a leading British researcher.

Because of this reluctance it has been difficult to learn what the data have to offer, said James Stott of England's National Institute for Biological Standards and Control, Hertfordshire, U.K.

Stott made his remarks during an invited State-of-the-Art Lecture to the 3rd Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections, held January 28-February 1, 1996, in Washington, D.C.
