Consumer Booklets on Protease Inhibitors Available

The International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care (IAPAC), Chicago, Illinois, is distributing a consumer booklet explaining how protease inhibitors work.

Written by Martin Markowitz, M.D., of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center, New York, New York, the booklet explains what an HIV protease is, how protease inhibitors work, how protease inhibitors combine with other antivirals, and explains drug resistance. The booklet also contains a listing of ten protease inhibitors in various stages of development and contains a glossary.
