According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Conference on Global Lung Health and the 1995 Annual Meeting of the IUATLD/UICTMR, held September 9-12, 1995, in Paris, France, "Objectives: To evaluate prospectively the clinical tuberculosis (tb) in HIV positive patients. Methods: Patients with tuberculosis diagnosed between June 93 and July 94 and followed until November 94 were included. The diagnostic criteria were the isolation of M. tuberculosis or histopathology in addition to clinical remission with standard therapy (Isoniazid (I), Rifampin (R) and Pyrazinamide given for 2 plus I and R for 7 months).
