City To Host Exhibit on Living with HIV/AIDS

An HIV positive patient is puzzled because a woman living with breast cancer for five years is called a survivor, he says.

"I've been HIV positive for probably 16 or 17 years, and I'm still called fatally ill. How long do I have to live before I am considered a survivor'" he asks. From the patient's attitude comes the nation's first consumer fair for people with HIV and AIDS.

The exhibit, to be held in May 1996, is hosted by New York City and POZ, a magazine about AIDS and HIV that the patient founded.

The exposition plans to feature products such as water purifiers and nutritional coffee, financial advice, travel suggestions,...
