Immune Modulator Strengthens Resistance to AIDS Infections

Dimethaid Research Inc., Markham, Ontario, Canada, announced that a Phase II clinical trial of WF10, an immune system modulator, has shown that WF10 effectively stimulates the immune system of AIDS patients to resist the opportunistic infections associated with the disease.

The trial, directed by Dr. Stephen R. Raffanti of Vanderbilt University Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee, was a double blind, three month, randomized placebo-controlled study involving adult patients with late stage AIDS (mean CD4 count equals 30).
