Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) Human AIDS Trial Underway

Advanced Viral Research Corp., Hallandale, Florida, reports that a double blind clinical AIDS trial assessing the efficacy of the drug Reticulose in human patients with AIDS is underway.

The study is taking place at the School of Clinical Medicine and Research, University of the West Indies, Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) in Bridgetown, Barbados. This clinical study was undertaken following the laboratory investigations of Dr. Shalom Z. Hirschman, Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York, New York, showing that Reticulose (PNA) inhibits the replication of HIV and stimulates the immune system to produce immuno-modulators (Gamma Interferon, IL1, & IL6).
