"The Need of Prevention Against Blood Borne Infections in Nursing Homes."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 4th International Conference on the Prevention of Infection, held May 6-7, 1996, in Nice, France, "Objective: People employed in nursing homes are generally considered at low risk for occupational infections with blood borne pathogens. We investigated the frequency of blood and body fluid contacts, and the knowledge and application of preventive measures. Method and Population: A standardized questionnaire was sent to 238 employees of 4 nursing homes in the Western part of Belgium.
