Researchers Discover Factor in HIV Infection Resistance

University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) AIDS Institute researchers have discovered an immune trait which may promote resistance to HIV infection and have implications for the development of a vaccine to prevent HIV transmission.

The UCLA researchers found that homosexual men who had high levels of an antibody called VH3 were relatively resistant to HIV infection by sexual contact.
