Experienced Physicians Are More Aggressive in Treating HIV

Physicians who are experienced in treating patients with HIV disease are more likely to begin treatment with antiretroviral therapy early in the disease and also are more likely to treat opportunistic infections appropriately, researchers at the Community Consortium have reported.

"We looked at whether there were differences in how physicians who treat people with HIV prescribed treatment," said Thomas Mitchell, M.P.H., Community Consortium.
