Agreement Signed To Develop DNA-Based HIV Tests

Visible Genetics Inc. (VGI), Toronto, Ontario, Canada, said that it has signed a research agreement with Consolidated Laboratory Services (CLS), Van Nuys, California.

The two companies have planned to develop and carry-out early stage clinical trials on two diagnostic tests for HIV: a quantitative viral load test and a full sequence based test. Both tests employ VGI's CLIP single-tube sequencing and stratified matrix testing methods, and run on VGI's OpenGene DNA sequencing platform.
