"Triple Antiretroviral Regimen in Children Using the Protease Inhibitor Ritonavir: Evaluation of Virus Load."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology entitled AIDS Pathogenesis, sponsored by Abbott Laboratories and the Director's Sponsor Fund, held April 8-13, 1997, in Keystone, Colorado, "Studies are being conducted to determine the safety, tolerability and efficacy of protease inhibitors in children. We initiated therapy with ritonavir in ten patients (4 w/AIDS) with a median age of 8.5 years (range: 4.3 to 13.4 years) who had demonstrated increases in HIV RNA levels within the last 6 months.
