According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 37th ICAAC, held September 28 - October 1, 1997, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, "Human cytomegalovirus (hCMV) is a significant pathogen in immunocompromised patients such as organ transplant recipients and AIDS patients. Immunoglobulin therapy for hCMV has been successful but has been limited by the antibody titer of plasma donors screened for natural infection.
