Lymphocyte Subset Analysis with Frozen Blood May Improve Accuracy

A lymphocyte subset analysis approach that uses frozen whole blood will be helpful for many research and clinical applications.

Whole blood (WB) is recommended for lymphocyte subset analysis by flow cytometry, however, the need for fresh samples (less than 30 hours old for ethylene-diaminetetraacetic acid [EDTA]-anticoagulated specimens) significantly limits the use of WB lysis assays. Batch testing of WB samples is impractical and often impossible.
