"Endobronchial Mass of Mycobacterium avium Complex in an HIV Infected Patient, Treated with Surgical Resection."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 1997 Annual Meeting of the American College of Chest Physicians, held October 26-30, 1997, in New Orleans, Louisiana, "A 53-year-old HIV infected man (CD4+ 50 cells/mm3) presented with a 4-day history of fever and cough productive of yellowish sputum. He also reported progressive dyspnea on exertion for several weeks prior to admission. He denied hemoptysis, night sweats or weight loss. His past medical history was significant for hypertension, one episode of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP), cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis, and peripheral neuropathy.
