AIDS 'Czar' Promises Work on Needle Exchange

Sandra Thurman, President Clinton's AIDS "czar", pledged to continue work on the controversial issue of needle exchange as part of the White House's commitment to reducing new HIV infections.

"We will continue to work on the issue of needle exchange in an effort to do what is in the best interest of people living with HIV and AIDS, and of all Americans," Thurman told the opening session of a four-day meeting of the White House advisory panel on AIDS.
