"Effective Use of Liposomal Daunorubicin (DaunoXome(R)) in HIV Infected Patients with AIDS-Associated Kaposi's Sarcoma."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Sixth European Conference on Clinical Aspects and Treatment of HIV Infection, held October 11-15, 1997, in Hamburg, Germany, "In our hospital three HIV patients with Kaposi's Sarcoma were treated with liposomal Daunorubicin (DaunoXome(R)). The therapeutic success was remarkable. None of our patients treated has shown any symptoms of cardiomyopathy so far. The only side effect reported was bone marrow suppression in one case. All three patients were suffering from a far advanced immunodeficiency syndrom classified as a HIV C3 stage. Patient 1 had marked manifestation of a cutaneous infiltration by disseminated Kaposi's Sarcoma...
