Further Donor Exclusion Reduces HIV Transmission Risk

Fifteen percent of first-time blood donors in Zimbabwe were HIV positive.

Factors that were significantly associated with HIV seropositivity included recruitment venue, age, marital status, donor residence, residence of primary partner, occupation, history of sexually transmitted disease, and condom use.
