According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 27th Annual Meeting of the International Society for Experimental Hematology, held August 1-5, 1998, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, "As a part of our efforts to develop hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPC)-based gene therapies for HIV disease we have studied retroviral vector expression in human CD34+ HSPC, and T and myeloid cells derived from transduced HSPC in various in vitro and in vivo assays (SCID-hu models).
