Research Partnership Announced To Develop HIV Vaccines

AlphaVax Human Vaccines Inc., Durham, North Carolina, has entered a $4.6 million research partnership with the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI).

The AlphaVax research team is one of two groups chosen by IAVI to accelerate AIDS vaccine development. The other team is based in Oxford, United Kingdom. IAVI's total funding commitment of $9.1 million represents the two single largest AIDS research awards ever by a non-governmental organization, IAVI said in a news release.
