According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the International Conference on the Discovery and Clinical Development of Antiretroviral Therapies, held December 13-17, 1998, in St. Thomas, West Indies, US Virgin Islands, "Trials of NFV 1250 mg BID compared to 750 mg TID in ARV-naive persons with HIV infection have shown comparable antiretroviral effect and tolerability. No study has looked at the effect of switching from TID to BID dosing in treatment-experienced persons.
