"Risk for Primary Pneumocystis carinii Pneumonia After the CD4+ T Lymphocyte Count Rises Above 200 Cells/MICROSYMBOLL."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 36th Annual Meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, held November 12-15, 1998, in Denver, Colorado, "The risk for PCP after antiretroviral therapy (ART) has produced a rise in the CD4 count from <200 to above this threshold (CD4 bump) remains unclear. To examine this issue, we analyzed data from ASD, a national longitudinal medical record surveillance study, and compared patients with a CD4 bump to patients who had not been observed to have a CD4 count <200.
