According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the Keystone Symposia HIV Vaccine Development: Opportunities and Challenges and AIDS Pathogenesis, held January 7-13, 1999, in Keystone, Colorado, "N-terminal modifications of RANTES with higher in vitro inhibitory activity ... than native RANTES have been tested for inhibition of R5 HIV-1 infection in the hu-PBLSCID model. Aminooxypentane (AOP)-RANTES and nnonanoyl (NNY)-RANTES were evaluated.
