According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 10th Symposium on HIV Infection, held June 17-19, 1999, in Toulon, France, "Purpose of the Study: We compare adherence and clinical outcome with ... highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) in non-active IDUs and subjects with other HIV risk behaviors (non-IDUs). Methods: A total of 133 non-naive HIV infected adult patients, 71% IDUs and 29% non-IDUs, received triple drug therapy with stavudine, lamivudine, and indinavir.
