"Design of Attenuated Recombinant Salmonella typhimurium Strains Producing HIV and HBV Antigens."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 10th Symposium on HIV Infection, held June 17-19, 1999, in Toulon, France, "The aim of this study is construction of HIV and HBV vaccines using an attenuated Salmonella as vaccine carriers. The recombinant strains producing TBI (artificial protein which contains T- and B-cell epitopes of HIV), HBcAg, and chimeric core protein exposing on their surface the major immunogenic epitope of HBsAg (HBcAg-H-Bs) were constructed on the base of attenuated S. typhimurium strains.
