Largest Disease Management Contract in U.S. Signed

The state of Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has contracted with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), Los Angeles, California, to create a disease management program for 7,500 Medicaid recipients who are afflicted with HIV. The program, called Positive Healthcare/Florida, begins gradual operations in September 1999 and, when fully operational, is the largest HIV/AIDS disease management program in the U.S. "I am pleased to announce this unique partnership," said Ruben King-Shaw, Jr., AHCA.
