"Ocular Tuberculosis in AIDS Patients."

According to an abstract submitted by the authors to the 9th European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, held March 21-24, 1999, in Berlin, Germany, "Background and Objectives: Disseminated tuberculosis involving various organs and systems is a frequent opportunistic infection in HIV+ patients. The mycobacteriologic diagnosis is sometimes difficult, due to the unspecific symptoms and uncommon localization. Our purpose is to relate two clinical cases of ocular tuberculosis in AIDS patients, diagnosed by observation of alcohol-acid-fast bacilli in the conjunctival exudate, the bacilli having been identified as Mycobacterium tuberculosis...
