Commitment to AIDS Service Organizations Continued

Eighteen programs across the U.S. designed to link community-based organizations with local resources to provide HIV treatment information for women in underserved and hard to reach settings have received a total of $250,000 in grant support from Glaxo Wellcome.

The grants will fund programs focusing specifically on the health care needs of HIV positive women and improving their access to HIV treatment. The grants will fund positions such as women's outreach educators, peer treatment associates, family outreach liaisons, and minority coordinators. The funds will also support educational materials including a Spanish/English women's resource guide and peer treatment...
