HAART Causes HPV Regression

Researchers at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, recently presented findings of a study that showed that highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) may cause a regression of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in women with HIV.

"HAART has been demonstrated to have a beneficial effect on the clinical, immunologic and virologic course of HIV infected individuals. However, the relationship between HAART use and the course of HPV-associated disease has not been rigorously assessed," the Johns Hopkins scientists said.
