Regeneration and Tolerance Factor Correlates with HIV but not Hepatitis

Regeneration and tolerance factor (RTF) correlates positively with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, which drives the Th2 cytokine response, but not with hepatitis C virus (HCV), which induces the Th1 cytokine response.

This suggestion was made recently in the Clinical and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology journal by researchers in Chicago, Illinois. C.C. Sung as well as others at the Finch University of Health Sciences in the Chicago Medical School have determined that RTF expression can be significantly correlated with the HIV.
