Toxicity from Ritonavir Overdose Similar to Side Effects

An accidental overdose of Ritonavir (RTV) in an HIV infected patient showed that toxicity effects were similar to chronic side effects and manageable without interventional therapy.

"The number of drugs used and the complexity of drug schedule in HIV patients may contribute to morbidity due to accidental errors," said F. Di Candilo and colleagues from the University of Perugia, Italy.
