Liu and colleagues from Enzo Therapeutics, Inc., New York, and the University of California tried "to restore immunocompetency in HIV-1 infected individuals by establishing a sustained population of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) expressing anti-HIV-1 antisense RNA and resistant to HIV-1 infection."
