Institute of Human Virology, Harvard School of Public Health Join Forces in Nigeria

The Institute of Human Virology (IHV), a center of the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute, has joined the Nigeria AIDS Prevention Initiative of the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH), to reach groups in Nigeria who are at higher risk for HIV infection and other sexually transmitted diseases.

The Harvard initiative, which has received funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will implement prevention and intervention programs, while gathering epidemiological information on these high-risk populations and evidence for principal means of transmission.
