Organization Launches National HIV Prevention Project

The AIDS Alliance for Children, Youth & and Families has announced a new approach to HIV prevention in the wake of alarming new epidemiologic statistics on HIV infection among young, gay men, particularly young, gay, African-American men, released May 31, 2001, by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

David Harvey, AIDS Alliance, said, "the CDC has released chilling data on the rise of HIV infection among young gay men. As we commemorate the 20th year of AIDS in the United States, this data is a staggering wake-up call. It is 1981 all over again.
