EMS Workers Reduce Injury Risk With Switch To Self-Retracting Device

by Sonia Nichols, senior medical writer - A University of Arizona investigator proposes that by switching to self-retracting lancets, emergency medical system (EMS) workers can reduce their risk for needle-stick injuries and limit the possibility of acquiring bloodborne infections while at the same time reducing annualized treatment costs.
